I just installed Solomon single user, Solomon Edition
(Win XP, SQL Svr 2000 SP3a, Solomon 5.5 SP3) and am
attempting to activate the product using activation keys
as described on the MSDN Solomon 5.5 Volume 1 page. The
MSDN product description page says to activate GL and
SY003 together, and I'm running into 2 problems:

1. When I type SY003, I get a module not found error.
However, when I type SY, the system chooses the System
Manager, which I think is the right module to activate.
Is this the case, or should I still be looking for SY003?

2. When I enter the serial # and keys for either of the
two modules (GL and SY), I get an error saying that the
keys are incorrect.

Can anyone help get me up and running?

Steve,

It sounds as though you installed the wrong version of Solomon. Your
registration keys should display a number in parenthesis with the product
type. I believe single user is (49). If it is 49, then your install also
has to be 49 in order for your keys to work.

To check what you installed, find your solinst.cfg file on your server,
(probably in your Program Files\Solomon folder). Open that file in notepad
and scroll to the bottom. You will see a number close to the bottom. If
it does not match your registration, please change it so that it does
(again probably should be 49). Then try to reopen Solomon and re-enter
your keys. At that time Sy003 should be a valid module

Or, you can uninstall Solomon and reinstall ensuring that you choose Single
user when prompted

Kimberly,

Thanks for this explanation. I did check that cfg file and found that the
number is 49, so I think I have the right version installed. Any other
ideas/any other things I can check?

Thanks
Steve

Steve,

Sorry I didn't reply back sooner.

The keys also key off the customer ID and Company name. If you have
entered something different for those than are on the registration
information then you will encounter issues. It needs to be entered EXACTLY
like the form displays it.

You can try calling technical support and see if they can help you. Or you
can contact the registration team and see if they can help you resolve your
issue or reissue new keys
