We currently have our SL environment set up with client installs of SL on the
workstations. We are planning on running a test to see how much of a
performance boost we will get if we install appliation files on our
workstations.

I'd like to know if there are any concerns with installing the application
files on workstations.

The main concern relate to managing the versions of the applications,
custom reports, import macros, menus(depending on the version), and the
like. These would have to be duplicated on each workstation to work
correctly. Whenever a change is made or an update installed, it would
have to be applied to all workstations.

If that is done, it should run just fine and may be a little faster since
the apps will be on the local workstation.

If you do this for FRx, you probably want to point to the server based
sysdata folder for the report definitions. Otherwise, you will have
multiple copies of the report definitions and it would be hard to keep in
synch.
